My motivation

After an eventful 30-year U.S. Military career, I turned to photography to capture the grandness and serenity of our planet and regain perspective in life.

" No form of Nature is inferior to Art, for the arts merely imitate natural forms."

Why did I choose Marcus Aurelius? He was a stoic philosopher and Roman emperor who understood the interconnectedness of all things in nature. His wisdom has inspired my photography, emphasized the beauty and wonder of the natural world surrounding us and the unity we share with it.

"Observe always that everything is the result of a change and get used to thinking that there is nothing Nature loves so well as to change existing forms and to make new ones like them."

The symbiotic nature that changes and serenity bring to a person makes nature photography a source of great pleasure. Capturing the vast mountain ranges of Switzerland or the Rocky Mountains, awe-inspiring waterfalls in Oregon, trickling streams in the backroads of Wyoming, urgent, rushing rivers in Idaho, towering forests of the Western United States or our expansive Universe, all of which remind us of our smallness and the need to coexist with nature, is a joyous experience.

My vision is to capture the serene moments that Terra Mater, our Mother Earth, so graciously offers us. I hope that by sharing these moments through my photography, you too can find joy and inspiration in the beauty of our natural world.
